I loved the cake and so did the office. I couldn't believe how well the colors coordinated with our company colors. It wasn't just a cute cake, it was delicious too. I'll be back soon!! Thanks, Robyn P. |
I ordered cupcakes for a December Birthday at my office, they totally enjoyed the flavor of home baked taste and the freshness that was in the cake and icing as well. -Pamela
This cake was amazing! It was everything I imagined it to be. The cake tasted so good with the raspberry cream filling! This purse cake was a hit at the party so many people thought it was a real purse rather than a cake. Thank you so much for taking on the challenge and putting so much effort and detail into it. -Heather G.

I was relatively separated from this cake buying experience. What I did know is that my infant son [who was about to become a toddler] was allergic to some of the key ingredients in cake and frosting. We're not talking just a tummy ache, we're talking anaphylactic. As every good parent in the world, I wanted my son to have the same experiences that a child who does not have allergies would. I wanted my son to play in his cake and eat it too! How was this going to be possible when he has a severe allergy? Enter Cake Crumbs. My wife did a ton of calling around, looking for someone who could help. Even my personal favorite (Rheinlander) couldn't help. My wife and I were under a ton of stress to make this happen, but feeling the potential disappointment of discovering that nobody could make this happen for my little boy. My wife spoke to so many people, some sympathetic, some who said just feed him a normal cake (he'll be okay) or maybe it was their lack of understanding [of the English language]. The last call my wife made was to Cake Crumbs in Denver. Denon who I assume owns the joint, immediately sprung into action. She offered several alternatives, including carrot cake, to make this little boy's birthday real. Denon researched my son's allergy and asked that we come in. We set up an appointment and showed up on a Saturday. To our surprise, Denon had found an alternative to everyday frosting! A frosting with none of the 'good stuff'?! Was it possible?! How 'bout the cake? There has to be something in the cake! Nope. Nothing! Denon had a plan to make a cake that contained none of the standard ingredients and making my son's birthday party a reality. Denon had even explained to my wife and I her plans to sterilize her kitchen before beginning the cake making process; just to minimize the risk of contamination. Ingredients that my wife and I thought nothing about, Denon was on top of and already had alternatives in place to replace them. I picked up my son's cake on a Saturday morning, not knowing what to expect. Sure, I had seen Denon's website with her *impressive* cakes, one looking like a Louie Vuitton purse. Literally. But, how was this little boy's cake going to taste? A small cake with a little purple dinosaur with green spots. Let me tell you, I didn't eat any of his cake, but my wife sure did; along with my sister in law, mother in law, step mother... the cake kept spreading. Denon had pulled it off! A cake that had none of the typical ingredients [and my son just finished playing in] was making its way around the birthday party with people so impressed. I was sure to have a pile of Denon's business cards on hand for those asking where we got the cake. I did enjoy some of the 'adult' cake, which had the good stuff... along with a purple dinosaur. The cake was definitely not something you would pick up at a grocery store. This cake was moist, but not too moist, with frosting so good that it could be eaten alone. Oh, and I can't stand frosting, but this was good! I'm not here raving about Denon's standard cakes. Well, I'll rave a little bit about them because they are good! I am here to rave about the customer service and the personal touch they add. It wasn't about the frosting, nor the purple dinosaur. It was the fact that this young lady was faced with a challenge for a little boy, and she did it! She took the challenge and ran with it, turning it into a pleasure. Denon, thank you. Without you, my son would have likely missed out on the opportunity to play in a cake and enjoy the pleasures of a sugar rush. Without you, my family (my son's grandparents) would not have had the photo opportunity with their first and only grandchild that they had on that day. To you, it was a cake, that nobody knew how it would taste. But to this little boy, my wife, my family, and myself; it was the chance of a lifetime. You likely have no idea what you did that weekend, but you did something truly special and I want you to know it. I *strongly* recommend Cake Crumbs to anyone! Sure, you might spend just a bit more, but it's worth it!

Denon! Just want to thank you for the DELICIOUS carrot cake that I bought for my hubby's birthday. It was so yummy and I especially love the cranberries you put in the fillings, and I like that the cream cheese icing was not too sweet. Thank you! Will definitely come back for more~~ BTW, the lemon bar was delish and the cheesecake brownie was OMG rich and good, such a nice combo!! THANK YOU!!!!!
